The Goal: A Permanent Space for Art & Community
With this $25,000 grant, my dream is to open a dedicated art studio and gallery here in Houston, Texas. Beyond pushing my own creative boundaries, I plan to build a vibrant community hub—complete with an integrated coffee shop and workstations. I want to create a destination where the public can experience art firsthand, and where local artists are supported in networking, promoting their work, and breaking into the industry. Having navigated this industry through group exhibitions and vendor markets since 2014, I want to pay that experience forward.
My Creative Journey
Creating art is my primary tool for self-discovery. It empowers me to explore my gifts, process my emotions, and teach others. As a graphic designer and fine artist, my favorite mediums are painting, drawing, and digital art. My work is often minimal, abstract, or surreal, drawing deep inspiration from nature, world cultures, Art Deco, the Renaissance, Cubism, and Ukiyo-e. Understanding the roots of these elements infuses my creative process with genuine meaning. Ultimately, only you are capable of understanding your work and how you want to expose it to the world—and I want to build a space that celebrates that authenticity.
